The research area of "Environment and Land" was formed at the
beginning of the '90s by the convergence of different groups - Forest
Ecology and Ecological Planning, Geodesy
and Survey, and
Urban and Regional Planning - sharing the same
willingness to study new criteria for environmental protection and
land planning, with particular attention to mountain areas.
These groups use the most advanced techniques in order to read and
represent the land and the environment and focus their interests
on issues such as sustainable development. A distinctive feature
of this area is the continuous work of interdisciplinary cooperation
to assess the impact on the environment of human activities and
settlements. |
