Foreword
This section of the tutorial has the precise aim to facilitate the first approach of a beginner to GRASS GIS. The user should follow the exercises in the order in which he finds them:
the first lessons are designed to be very easy, and every single operation that must be carried out is described precisely guiding the user step by step; on the contrary, while lessons proceed, some steps will be taken for granted.
Conventions
During the practices some actions to be carried out in the GRASS environment will be described. Depending on the kind of action, different text styles will be used:
