From 2001 to 2005 (A.Y. 02/03, 03/04, 04/05) Dr. Tomasi was Teaching Assistant in Masonry and Timber Structures of prof. Maurizio Piazza and prof. Marco Ballerini at University of Trento for the Course Structural Analysis and Design II (SAD II) and for the Course Structural Analysis and Design III (SAD II). Both courses were addressed to last year course’s students of the Civil Engineering (old curriculum). SAD II dealt with theory and the design of civil buildings (masory and reinforced concrete), and Dr. Tomasi was involved in subjects regarding masonry structures. SAD III dealt with theory and the design of timber structures, and Dr. Tomasi was involved in subjects regarding timber joint design.

From 2005 to 2010 (A.Y. 05/06, 06/07, 07/08) Dr. Tomasi has been Professor at University of Trento for the Course Timber and Masonry Construction (TMC), Timber Engineering (TE) and Structural Rehabilitation (SR). Those courses have been addressed to last year course’s students of the Civil Engineering and Architectural Engineering (master curriculum).

From 2004 to 2010 Dr. Tomasi was involved in teaching activity for professional course “Ho_lz” of the Association of Timber and Mills Italian and Austrian Industries “Promo_legno”. Since 2000, Dr. Tomasi has had the opportunity to have a concern in professional activities or to be consulting engineer in some interesting works of Civil Engineering Design. From 2000 to 2003 he cooperated with a Civil Engineering Office in Trento (Italy), on different subject regarding structural and architectural problems: design of reinforced concrete structures, building physics, and structural rehabilitation.

From 2004 Dr. Tomasi has been Consulting Engineer for specifics structural topic regarding mainly timber and masonry structures.

Since 2007 Dr. Tomasi was involved in a on-line Help Desk project specifically directed to professional designers. He was commissioned by a Timber and Mills Association to set up the Help Desk and to create a staff of specialists who have the knowledge to address a diverse range of inquires related to different timber topics: during this activity Dr. Tomasi had the possibility to test his aptitude to coordinate different human resources, and to read up on the different questions raised by the Help Desk Users regarding wood products and timber structures.
